New Changes on Post study work permits for students have been introduced from 29 November 2011

The Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, Chris Evans, and the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Chris Bowen, today announced an extension of the post-study work arrangements from 2013.

Post-study work arrangements for university graduates will be available for:

Graduates who complete their Bachelor degrees after at least two academic years’ study in Australia will be eligible for a two year stay;
Graduates who complete their Masters degrees after at least two academic years’ study in Australia will be eligible for a three year stay; and
Graduates who complete their PhD after at least two academic years’ study in Australia will be eligible for a four year stay.

  1. hello Grant, good-morning,actually my story begin from here i applied my student visa on 11/01/2012 but my visa was reused on 16th feburary saying that i am not a genuine applicant for entry really i am not satisfied with this reason my intention is to gain good certificate where it could be sold all over the countries,as Australia has good environment to study and safety as well …………………again i am turning my mind to apply student visa and hope i would get positive judgment.waiting for your positive response thank you

    I got rejected my student visa from India in 2011. Am I eligible for reapply for Australia student visa or not? My elder brother in Australia that’s why they rejected my student visa. Please advise me what I can do?
